Ken is an active and respected leader in surety, construction and community groups. Originally trained in San Francisco with Fireman’s Fund (the largest writer of surety bonds in California at the time), he spent time in Northern and Southern California branches before moving to a large brokerage firm in San Francisco. In 1986 he moved to the Inland Empire and took over the surety operations of a large regional surety brokerage specializing in Construction, where he worked for 6 years, leaving before their acquisition by Aon to move back to the underwriting side and serve as Manager of the Inland Empire office of Amwest Surety. In 1995 he co-founded Inland Surety, a regional surety agency; this was acquired by Talbot in 1996, and then Talbot merged with Hub International in 2004.
He was most recently the Chair of the Associated General Contractors, serves as the vice-chair of the San Bernardino Community College District Bond Oversight Committee, PAC Chairman of the Engineering Contractors Association, and advocates for the economic well-being of the Inland Empire as an executive Board Member of Inland Action.
He has an adult son, three young daughters, has no free time, and gets no sleep.
